e4Xchange Corp, partners with Ames in research and commercialization
e4Xchange Corporation's mission is to research, innovate and commercialize technology and science applications that help improve the quality of life and human advancement. The IT professional services division at e4Xchange provides custom software development, systems integration and contract personal services from its pool of skilled professionals. The product division focuses on developing products based on research and innovation.
Sam Addala founded e4Xchange Corporation in 2000. He has over 25 of years of industry experience and is also an adjunct mentor at Carnegie Mellon-West. Addala is the CEO and principal investigator of e4Xchange. "My passion is to build e4Xchange as an innovative company that brings the convergence of information technology, nano technology and biotechnology. We're lucky to have attracted the best talent of PhD researchers, PMP certified project managers, experienced technical product managers, technical architects and developers!" says Addala.
The Information Technology Products Division of e4Xchange successfully researched and developed Web-based Factorial Survey and Statistical Analysis (FESA) software for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, under the SBIR Phase I/II programs. e4Xchange is currently commercializing this product with government, academia and corporate organizations to support local and global survey design, data collection and statistical analysis. Potential benefactors of this software include aviation safety, patient safety reporting, Earth sciences and other divisions that conduct data collection and analysis survey experiments. Presentations made at the Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology (FCSM) conference and Kent State University in Ohio were well received. Web based FESA software, developed by e4Xchange, was recognized as a unique, easy to product that saves time, money and resources.
A lot of good things are happening at e4Xchange. The NanoTechnology division is working on the application of nano particles in the inkjet printing technology. "Our research paper has been accepted by the Nano Science Technology Institute", enthusiastically says Addala. "It will be presented in the NSTI 2006 International conference in Boston. Promoting his product, "we trust that this innovation will have great benefit for NASA", Addala smiles
When asked of his thoughts about leasing space in the NASA Research Park (NRP), Addala says, "NASA Ames is the best place for someone who thinks of research and innovation." Addala describes e4Xchange as small business with unlimited silicon valley potential surrounded by world-renowned NASA scientists, some having received the President's Gold Medal - "but the NASA Research Park address on my business card gives me extra courage to think BIG", laughs Addala. He generously applauds efforts of the NRP division for helping make partners of the NASA Research Park more visible and for fostering collaborations. He is confident that being located in the NRP will help him realize his passion of multi disciplinary research. "Simply put, Ames is ideal!" exclaims Addala.
As for future aspirations, Addala hopes to pursue a preferred vendor relationship with NASA and provide products, services and research collaboration. "To have a close working relationship with Ames scientists and NRP industry partners - helping each other carry out the best research; bringing the fruits of the research to the general public, is a what I strive to do", says Addala. Addala regularly volunteers his time to work with children to educate them in human values. He is excited that his son is getting married in June and his daughter having her solo dance debut in July. Addala believes that he is blessed to have his wife, who encourages his ideas and supports him unconditionally.
